In the fast-moving world of consumer electronics, the Internet provides USB flash drive supplier Starline with real-time traction for speeding up the selling cycle and enhancing just-in-time capabilities. A case in point is an unforgettable deal it clinched with a UK client which started through Alibaba.com's instant messenger tool, TradeManager.
"Alibaba's TradeManager has enabled us to complete many successful deals including one with a UK client who ordered 10,000 USB Flash Drives with a four-day delivery cycle. Using our ERP and efficient production line, we reallocated resources to this deal and delivered the goods on time," recounted Grady Yu, CEO of Starline.
Alibaba.com has been key to Starline's rapid business expansion. "In 2005, we were a
four-employee company. In 2007, our employees numbered over 300 people. Our sales have increased 10-fold from 2005, and this has mainly been because of Alibaba," remarked Grady.
