major chains, that makes it MUCH more likely other chains will give it a test.
4. The product(s) offer incremental sales and profit to the retailer, not just a replacement sales for another product. If a product just replaces the sales of something else, there
is no overall benefit to the retailer. If it fills a hole in their "merchandise mix" and produces incremental sales, then they will be interested.
5. The manufacturer has the financial capability to deal with large orders and can demonstrate the capability to always provide on time deliveries and good product quality that will not cause consumer returns.
6. The manufacturer must be open to and welcome product and design changes in their products from retailers . The best possible situation for a manufacturer is when a retailer has confidence in them and is willing to help them develop further
products to meet their customers needs .
U.S. retailers prefer to deal with suppliers of consumer products in leading catagories, that are of " exceptional quality. Quality is the key ". Better quality products are products consumers tend to talk about after they buy, and this makes more sales happen automatically.
