Concrete Batching / Mixing Plant Basic requirements,
Proposed Plant Location
20 Sir James Wattie Drive
Hornby
Christchurch
South Island
New Zealand
1, Must be capable of servicing at peak times but not necessarily together both pre cast production situated on site and a fleet of agitator trucks.
Pre cast delivery via concrete skips running under gantry cranes in two enclosed buildings see site layout. (This number of buildings may grow later)
2, Plant must have a maximum continuous running capacity of 100 Cubic meters per hour ( 131 Cubic yards ) Generally we envisage output to be round half this a majority of the time.
3, Aggregate storage capacity of 200 cubic meters (262 Cubic yards) minimum, Options, ideas and prices for other/extra storage facilities required
Above ground hoppers, ground level walking floors etc
4, Minimum 150 tonne cement storage.
5, Delivery of wet concrete into pre cast plant via monorail/vertical rail flying bucket or similar
6, Delivery divertible to load concrete trucks
7, Prefer to be designed to run without the need for auxiliary equipment (i.e. wheel loaders etc)
8, Needs facility to be able to accurately measure and use additives etc in process.
9, Must be manufactured with components easily accessible by ourselves X - NZ or at the worst X - Australia in a majority of cases.
I.e. common pneumatic / hydraulic valveing, gear boxes, variable speed drives, conveyor belting etc.
Replaceable wear surfaces and wear plates need to be easily accessible
10, There needs to be knowledge / experience within the Christchurch area on the plc equipment used to control this process. Or access to somebody who can train a local contractor.
11, Complete plant needs to be automated and be capable of being run by minimal personnel.
12, Running of plant needs to be as less complex as possible.
13, Maintenance free areas of plant where ever possible.
14, Manual cleaning needs to be kept to a minimum where possible, Majority of cleaning process should be when possible automated (labour saving long term)
15, Cleaning water reclaiming required
16, Wet concrete reclaiming / reuse preferred
I.e. cleaning of agitator trucks and concrete skips
17, All steel in high risk areas where possible covered with sacrificial covering, i.e. prefer hot dip galvanizing rather than painting
18, All areas of plant easily accessible for maintenance and repairs, Remote Grease and lubrication banks for quick and easy preventative maintenance. Automatic lubrication system could be advantageous.
Note .Conversion for Cubic Meters to Cubic Yards used at
1 cubic meter = 1.308 cubic yards
