Type and size of Product:
The requirement is for flat Phosphor Bronze sheets of thickness approximately 0.003", 0.004", and 0.005" and cut to size of approximately 12"x50", 0.003 inch is the one with the most inquiry qty.
Composition of Material:
The amount of tin in the material should preferably not exceed 5.2%.
Mechanical Requirements:
The hardness of the material should be hard or extra-hard. A hardness of spring or extra-spring will also be considered if the required flatness can be achieved.
The material has to be dead flat, i.e. no inherent coil set memory, buckling, waviness, or other stresses induced by the rolling or handling processes should be present. This would probably require a stress-relief annealing procedure or some other means of tension levelling or de-stressing of the material.
Should this not be possible with Phosphor Bronze, any other similar material (for example, such as cold rolled Beryllium Bronze) that will provide the required flatness can be considered.
