We are an agent for major electric motor manufacturers here in the US who are interested in working with China.
We have a big inquiry as below:
- Volume requirements: 1 million for year 1 (will need to start delivery of motors/gear reducers in late part of 3rd quarter 08, early part of 4th quarter 08). The program will last for 3-4 additional years at roughly the same volume requirement as first years volume. NOTE: another program which would use this same identical motor could increase requirements by double but that is in the works still and specifics are somewhat vague.
- The customer needs to have the motor come to them with the encoder already mounted. If quoting the gear reducer, this unit needs to be shipped separate from the motor. As part of the contract with customer, customer must perform some operation(s) in-house and that part will be assembling the gear reducer to the motor. They also will perform testing of the motor prior and after assembling.
- The motor must be a BRUSH motor even though there will be an encoder attached.
- The motor will be a 24-volt design and the torque. By looking at the motor curves (attached), the rated torque of the motor is likely around 22.5 Ncm.
- The encoder will only be used to measure deflection.
- A target price for the motor w/ encoder along with the gear reducer is as follows:
- Motor w/ encoder - $3.50 to $4.00 each
- Gear reducer - $1.5 to $2 each
