Motor Specifications.

UTILIZATION VOLTAGES:                  

Following voltage levels shall be adopted:

Motors above 1100 kW:                                                 11 kV, 3 phase

Motors above 132 kW up to and including 1100 kW:        3.3 kV, 3 phase

Motors from 0.18 kW up to and including 132 kW:                    415V, 3 phase

Fractional horse power motors below 0.18 kW:               240V, 1 phase.

Welding receptacles:                                                     415V, 3 phase, 4 wire.

Lighting & receptacle supply:                                         240V, 1 phase, 2 wire

                                                                                    50 Hz derived from 415V.

                                                                                    3 phase 4 wire system.

Control Supply  

11 kV, 3.3 kV, 415V switchgears:                                    110 VDC

11 kV & 3.3 kV motors:                                                  110 VDC

415V motors:                                                                240 VAC

Annunciators:            &nbp;                                                   110 VDC

Installation of low voltage motors of higher rating than 132 kW may be justifiable where, for example, the installation of an HV system would be avoided.  In such cases, specific approval from COMPANY shall be obtained. 

The phase sequence of the 3 phase system shall be in the order L1, L2, L3, each phase reaching maximum in time sequence in counter clock-wise rotation of phases.

Voltage levels used for distribution of electricity whose upper limit is 1000 VAC shall be designated low voltage and voltage levels in excess of 1000V AC shall be designated as high voltage.

The above utilization voltages shall be adopted except for the following cases:

         Power for motors from 0.18 kW to 350 kW having VSD systems shall be supplied from 415V sources.

MOTOR (Zone 21 Gas Group IIB):

Zone 21:          In which a combustible dust is likely to occur in normal operation.

Class II:            Locations are those which are hazardous because of the Presence of combustible dust.

Group B:          Atmosphere containing hydrogen, or gases or vapors of equivalent hazard such as manufactured gas.

• All electrical control devices shall be rated intrinsecally safe IEC EC(iD). All motors shall be suitable for Zone 21 Gas Group IIB (sulphur dust), temperature class 185� C at 54� C ambient. Motor enclosures shall be rated for IEC EX(tD). Doors shall be shop primed and field coated with two coats of an approvaed alkyd enamel in conformance with projects standards, colour to be selected by the COMPANY.
