GPS tracker unit

Bit 1C Ltd is a New Zealand based company looking for a device to provide tracking data for a new tracking application.

The application requires a device that can be permanently installed in a wide variety of vehicles. The device needs to collect position data from the GPS and relay this back to a server on the internet using GPRS. Ideally the unit will have a small footprint (100mm x 55mm x 10mm). I have outlined features that are required and features that would be desirable.

Required Features:

Must accept 12-14v DC
Must be GSM/GPRS
Must be able to send position updates via either TCP, UDP or HTTP (GPRS)

Desirable Features (not required):

Run on 9v-36v DC
Low power consumption
Quad band GSM
at least 12 channel GPS
Know when the vehicle ignition is off so it can go into a standby mode
SMS support (poll device via sms for position)
be able to Poll via GPRS
Variable position reports (change in speed bearing etc)
Included GPS Antenna

Alarm inputs
