OurContinuous electrodeionisation modules utilize ion exchange resinsprimarily as a bridge to allow electric current to pass through theelectrodeionisation cell. This allows us to operate the modules withoutany brine injection or concentrate recycle. Additionally, the ionexchange resins are used to 'polish' the purified water stream byremoving minute quantities of silica, carbon dioxide and othercontaminants. The ion exchange resins are continually being regeneratedby the dissociated hydrogen and hydroxyl ions that have been created bythe electric current. Electrodeionization utilizes no chemicalregenerants and creates no hazardous wastes. | ||
