Our big retailing customers here in the UK are stringent with regards to ethical policies and item testing.  No order can be placed to unapproved factories.  So the first step towards supplying them is factory approval when social audit reports must be submitted.  Social audit reports should be no older than one year from date of actual audit and have been conducted by a 3rd party monitor (ITS/ CSCC/ SGS/ BV/ STR) to the ETI base code, preferably the SMETA Sedex methodology.
