I am sending an advertisement appeared in newspapers for pre-qualification of firm and a news shown Govt. of Pakistan interest to import 0.4 millions MT urea. PUBLIC NOTICE INVITATION OF APPLICATION FOR PRE-QUALIFICATION OF FOREIGN INTERNATIONAL UREA SUPPLIERS/EXPORTERS Applications are invited immediately/latest by Friday the 9th October 2009 from reputed foreign international suppliers/exporters of Urea for pre-qualification of foreign Urea suppliers by TCP. Parties who are interested to get themselves pre-qualified may provide following information to TCP through their local agent. 1-i. Name and address of the firm with telephone, fax numbers and Email address. ii. Certificate of membership of concerned recognized trade association or the chamber as the case may be. iii. Companys profile and name of Directors/Partners/Proprietor. iv. Name and address of local agent with telephone, fax numbers and Email address, NTN & NIC. v. Previous experience of trade in the respective commodity (at least 3 years) duly supported with bill of lading confirming actual Shipment/Export. vi. Affidavit to the effect that there was no previous litigation of principal or his local agent with TCP. vii. An Affidavit to the effect that the principal or his local agent has not been blacklisted by any Government department/autonomous body. vii. Financial status report about its financial standing and business integrity by the partys bank along with bank statement showing trade transactions of last six months. 2. Application with incomplete information will not be considered. 3. An amount of US$ One thousand only (1000/-)will be charged from pre-qualified foreign international suppliers/exporters on issuance of pre-qualification letter by TCP as pre-qualification fee (non-refundable) in shape of Pay order/Demand Draft or direct remittance in TCP Foreign Currency Account. 4- Those who are already pre-qualified for Urea need not apply.

Import of 0.4m tons fertiliser proposed

ISLAMABAD, Sept 10: The Task Force on Agriculture on Thursday proposed that 0.4 million tons of fertiliser be imported for the Rabi season to meet the demand.
The meeting of the task force was held under the chair of Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture (Minfal) Nazar Muhammad Gondal.
It reviewed the situation of fertiliser availability for Rabi season and decided to propose to import about 0.4 million tons of fertiliser subject to the approval of the Economic Coordination Committee.
The meeting was also briefed about the wheat stocks in the country and it was decided to keep 2.5 million tons wheat as strategic stock.
The meeting also decided to protect interests of rice farmers through intervention of price mechanism.
It also observed that the Rs37 billions project for the construction of modern warehouses was with the PSDP, which would be a milestone in agricultural growth.
Minister for Fina- nce Shaukat Tarin, Minister for Information Qamar Zaman Kaira, Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Miss Hina Rabbani Khar and Minister for Industries Mian Manzoor Watto were also present in the meeting. APP
