Minimumspecification.

1.0The PDA should have Rugged PDA housing protection to withstand harshenvironments i.e.

(a)Totally protected from dust

(b)Totally protected from moisture and water

(c)Resistant to shock due to falling (approx. 2 metres on concrete)

2.0Must have in-builtinternal rechargeable battery, operable around the clock for at least24 hours on continuous use in the buying centers and Must have anAC to DC, DC to DC power adapter for recharging.

3.0 Must have RS 232 and USBor USB port connection.

4.0Must have a sufficient storage capacity of at least 1 Gigabyte tohold detailed grower records for a month and summarized growerrecords for a financial year.

5.0User friendly and easy to set up for all measurement parameters.

6.0Must have a bright backlit display easy to read in dark environments.

7.0Must have a minimum of 1-year warranty.

8.0Have a stable operating system (Windows XP).

9.0Programmable using 4^thGenerational or object oriented language.

10.0Must be accompanied by a Technical and User guide manual.

11.0Should have a mandatory alternative back up in addition to theprinter and PDA storage.
