Pois Sucre Nuts

Grown in Burkina Faso.  This tuber ground in marshy areas is high in Carbohydrate content.  The plant is acutally part of the papyrus family  It is used to make Horchata du Chufa in Spain.  In the USA this plant is used to attract / feed wild turkeys and especially in the South it is used to fatten hogs.  It is said to give the meat a distinctive sweet taste.
