About products and suppliers

An oil filter is used to remove contaminants from engine oil, transmission oil, lubricating oil, or hydraulic oil. When the engine oil in the car circulates, it passes through the filter. The oil filter protects the engine by catching large particles in the oil. It also protects the engine by retaining a small oil when the car is turned off. The major parts of the oil filters include bypass valves, trapping plates, anti-drain back valves, oil filter spring retains, filter media, pleats, center steel tubes, and the oil filter housing. There are a lot of oil filter tools in the market, including oil filter wrenches.

Cartridge oil filter and canister oil filter

Both cartridge oil filter and canister oil filter works by forcing oil through a filtration media that traps contaminants. Canister oil filters are easy to install, while cartridge oil filters are more environmentally friendly. The cartridge oil filter housing is not discarded when changing the oil filter.

Other types of oil filter

Full-flow oil filters, also known as primary oil filters, are widely used in motor vehicles today. Such oil filter use less restrictive media as they have to keep with the oil requirements of the engine. Most full-flow oil filters are fitted with a bypass valve to avoid the situation where the engine lacks oil. Magnetic oil filters utilize a magnetic field to attract metal particles from the oil. One of the great advantages of the magnetic oil filter is that it does not require to be replaced. It will operate efficiently by cleaning it regularly. Spinner oil filters, or centrifugal oil filters, use centrifugal forces to separate contaminants from the oil. Some compressed air systems for vehicles also use these filters. It should be cleaned and inspected from time to time to ensure the spinner oil filter works well. Secondary oil filters can be used to remove the finer materials, which helps to prolong the lifespan of the engine and the oil change intervals. They can be mounted on the engine or installed in a remote location with hoses to convey the oil to the engine.
