Certified Kenaf Seed Producers

You Can Profit From Growing and Producing Kenaf Seeds

Kenaf and Leucaena are the key to successful development of Ecodevelopment in the tropics and temperate zones. The Kenaf Growers Task Force is the leader in tropical Kenaf production for livestock feed and other uses. Kenaf Seeds are available now.

Licensee/ producers are sought in tropical and mountain countries to grow "Kenaf Growers Task Force Certified Kenaf Seeds". "The licensee is given criteria and guidelines to follow for growing special Kenaf by the Kenaf Growers Task Force , developer and sponsor of the program," according to Dr. Carol Cross, Director of the Kenaf Growers Task Force

The licensee will obtain from the Kenaf Growers Task Force a complete turnkey kit for growing the Kenaf seeds. The licensee grows Kenaf on his land, reaps the seeds and ships them to the Kenaf Growers Task Force on a buy-back arrangement. Seeds and project guidelines for growing the seeds are included in the turnkey kit.

Other services include access to information resources for the production of livestock feed, fuel briquettes, fertilizer, building materials and biomass fuels from Kenaf with agricultural residues. Licensees will be invited to a special networking room at the Kenaf Symposium in November 2011 in Belize. The symposium will include a special one day workshop on Kenaf seed production for Licensees.

A FAMILY CAN WORK TOGETHER TO DEVELOP A KENAF SEED PRODUCTION PROJECT

The family can develop the plan together and work together for the planting and other labor divisions of the project. It is ideal for a family who has ambitions to Create a Kenaf based project and want to get started developing their own seed orchard. The purpose of Creating and building a business is to make money, earn a profit and grow. The purpose of Creating and building your business as the Kenaf Growers Task Force Certified Kenaf Seed Producers is also to ensure that whatever growth takes place in your country is sustainable and ecologically sound.

You Hold The Future In Your Hands

If you do not choose to build a sustainable business like becoming a member of the Kenaf Growers Task Force Certified Kenaf Seed Producer, or owning a Kenaf Based project, you leave the development of your country's resources in the hands of those who may not care as much as you do about the environment.

YOU GIVE UP YOUR POWER TO DIRECT YOUR COUNTRY TOWARD SUSTAINABILITY BY ALLOWING THE DEVELOPMENT DECISIONS TO BE MADE BY THOSE WHO DO NOT PRODUCE IN A SUSTAINABLE WAY.

"By growing Kenaf as the Kenaf Growers Task Force Certified Kenaf Seed Producer, the landowner gains foreign exchange, and in addition, produces his own 20%+ protein livestock feed, develops his land, increases productivity and provides for the development of both small scale and large scale business," notes Dr. Cross. The licensee receives Opportunity by Opportunity guidelines on how to prepare his land, how to plant, how to cultivate, how to harvest, how to treat the seeds, how to package and how to ship them to the Kenaf Growers Task Force

The Opportunity by Opportunity guidelines of this Turnkey program is ideal for tropical entrepreneurs with a little land, but not enough resources to begin a Project. By beginning in this program, the Licensee masters the art of Kenaf seed production, develops cash flow and gains the skills he will need when he puts together a 1000 acre Kenaf planting for a Kenaf Based Ecoindustrial Project.

Since he operates on a guaranteed market basis with a Buy-Back Agreement that comes with the program, he does not have to concern himself with marketing. In addition to growing the plants for seed, support will be given to the Kenaf Growers Task Force Certified Kenaf Seed Producers who wish to develop low tech livestock feed projects using Kenaf.

The licensees have access to the Kenaf Growers Task Force computer ration balancing programs, as well as all needed premixes, trace minerals, concentrates and other additives as part of the licensing agreement. In addition, the licensee has continued access to technical assistance and new livestock feed formulations.

In order to become a member of the Kenaf Growers Task Force Certified Kenaf Seed Producer, the in-country businessman or landowner purchases a Certified Producers’ Seed Production Kit which costs US$4500. This will include enough Kenaf seeds to plant 5 hectares of Kenaf Seeds as well as complete technical assistance and support for producing the seeds.

"Kenaf is a tropical plant with many industrial uses already. It's a unique opportunity to take advantage of the environmental movement. Kenaf's major constraint has been the lack of cold tolerant cultivars which up to now prevented its used in tropical highlands. Since tropical highlands are at most risk from erosion and environmental degradation, a Kenaf cultivar that grows in these environments will be invaluable. By working with this cold tolerant Kenaf, you can be an environmental entrepreneur and at the same time develop your country's agroindustrial base," says Dr. Cross.

3000 LBS WHITTEN KENAF SEEDS ARE NOW AVAILABLE
According to the Japanese, who wish to buy 100 million dollars annually of kenaf for making NONWOOD PAPER, kenaf is the "Ginzu Knife" of sustainable agriculture. Here at the LPS YOU GET the kenaf seeds for your planting right now.
Planting Kenaf Seeds.

Kenaf seeds can be broadcast, drilled in a seed planter or planted by hand. Before planting kenaf, have your soil tested. Normally on sandy loam of average fertility, kenaf should have at least 100 pounds per acre of nitrogen fertilizer. For maximum foliage and biomass yield, kenaf can have 300 lb. per acre of fertilizer placed.

And excellent way to get the nitrogen fertiliers in kenaf is to grow a nitrogen fixing crop like leucaena and chop it and place in the soil. Animal manure from a kenaf cut and carry project will be excellent to place on the kenaf field.

Kenaf should be planted at the beginning of the rainy season to get the good rains early in its development. Kenaf need to get a good start to reach its maximum productivity. That means enough moisture and enough soil fertility. Kenaf can be cultivated by hand weeding, hoes and or tractor cultivator.

Why Whitten is so Special

Whitten Kenaf - The Miracle Plant

Imagine a plant that grows 1 ft per week… and 20 feet tall in just one growing season… a plant whose per acre biomass yield is 3 to 4 times that of trees, enough biomass for 50 acres to feed a bio-mass power plant for a year… a plant that sequesters 8 times more CO2 per acre than evergreen trees… a plant that stores water like a camel and does not need to be irrigated, enabling it to grow on poor rural farms, even in arid climates…a plant that has a high protein content (up to 34%) whose leaves can be eaten in as little as 10 days after planting, and can
provide 80 servings per plant per growing season…a plant whose stalk can be used for firewood, one acre producing enough firewood to sustain 4 families for a year… a plant whose seed can be ground into delicious nutrient rich gluten-free flour, ½ pound of flour being enough to make 20 to 30 pan-sized breakfast pancakes ... a plant that yields 200 seeds per specimen in poor soil conditions, and over 11,000 seeds per specimen when farmed optimally… a plant that can have 2 growing seasons per year…a plant that provides 4 separate harvests per growing season: 1) leaves & stems, 2) bast fibers, 3) inner core, 4) seeds… each with multiple commercial uses...imagine the development of a rural middle class that produces their own food, housing, and electricity, thanks to this plant.

The name of this “super” plant is kenaf, but not just any variety of kenaf. This particular variety is called Whitten Kenaf. It was developed by the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station and released for general use in 2005. This variety is in the public domain and has already been introduced into Haiti… in 2009 just 30 lbs of kenaf seed kept a village of 2,000 people from starving.
