Brief Introduction:

Dahongpao Tea is the Wuyi rock tea of the highest quality. Wuyi rock tea originates in Wuyi Mountain of Fujian Province. Wuyi Mountain is located in the southeast of Chongan, Fujian. 60 kilometers around, there are 36 peaks and 99 famous rocks. Each rock has tea plants. Each kind of Tea names after each rock, and each rock can be seen full of tea plants, so there comes the name—rock tea. Wuyi has a long history of being renowned for tea. In Tang Dynasty, people have been planting and processing tea. In Song Dynasty, tea was ranked as one of royal tributes. In Yuan Dynasty, an imperial tea garden was set up on the Siqu Bank of Qiuqu River, exclusively used for collecting and processing tea of tribute. In the Late Ming and Early Qing Dynasty, oolong was processed. The tea plant in Wuyi Mountain is of numerous varieties. Four famous kinds of tea are Dahongpao, Tieluohan, Baijiguan, and Shuijingui. In addition, some kinds of tea name after their growing environments, like Bujiantian, Jinyaoshi, etc., some name after shapes of tea plants, like Zuihaitang, Zuidongbin, Diaojingui, Fengweicao, Wangqilin, YIzhixiang, etc., some name after shapes of tea leaves, like Guazijin, Jinqian, Zhusi, Jinliutiao, Daoyeliu, etc., some name after their germination time, like Yingchunliu, Buzhichun, etc., and some name after their fragrances, like Rougui, Shiruxiang, Bailuxiang, etc..
