Our Company

OUR COMPANY

Giuseppe Polverini is the inventor of FiberPasta and belongs to the fourth generation of a miller family. He says that "FiberPasta is the perfect fusion of tradition and innovation; it represents the authentic taste of Italian tradition and the health benefits of fibre"
Our history began in the second half of 1800, when the family founder, Nazzareno Polverini, born in 1854, began his business with a small watermill near Ancona, in the centre of Italy. His three sons widen his activity with the construction of three more mills.
One of them, Pietro, together with his son Italo, Giuseppe's father, bought a mill with stone grinders and transformed it into a modern system for producing white flour, which had a big demand at that time. This system worked until 1972; then Italo bought the current mill in Monte San Vito and an industrial bakery in Ancona, entrusting the bakery to his son Carlo and the mill to his son Giuseppe, who, beyond producing flour for bakeries, started the separation of different fractions composing wheat through special systems and partly planned by himself.

This activity allowed Giuseppe to supply, in the years 1985-90, some companies of an important Italian group with special flours and, at their leaders' suggestion, in 1996 he founded I.P.D. s.r.l, later called FiberPasta Srl.

After a big waste of energies, time and financial resources, he could finally patent the manufacturing process of new dietetic products named FiberPasta, which are useful for human health and have a pleasant taste. These products are completely natural and made by wheat with high amount of fibre.
In the year 2001 the Italian Ministry of Health approved the healthy qualities of FiberPasta through a Ministerial Decree.

Nowdays, both in Italy and abroad many thousands of people eat FiberPasta that allows to live healthy with a delicious Italian pasta!

FAQ

WHAT ABOUT THE GLYCEMIC INDEX OF FIBERPASTA?

FiberPasta can be considered a low glycemic index product, as it has a G.I. of 23,5. You can see the FiberPasta Glycemic Index Report made by the Specialization School in Food Sciences and Nutrition of the University of Ancona.

IF YOU REGULARLY EAT FIBERPASTA INSTEAD OF TRADITIONAL PASTA, CAN YOU LOOSE WEIGHT?

For people who need to loose weight, the regular use of FiberPasta instead of traditional pasta is really effective. We tested this product on overweight persons: regularly eating 100g of FiberPasta daily (within the context of a balanced dietand lifestyle) they lost about 3 kg just after the first month, and without any sacrifice. Check the Scientific_Report_San_Camillo_Forlanini_Diabetes_Department.

IS FIBERPASTA SUGGESTED FOR TREATING GESTATIONAL DIABETES?

FiberPasta is recommended to help women with gestational diabetes, whose main treatment is following a diet rich in low G.I. foods. The high fibre content of FiberPasta slows down carbohydrate absorption and reduces the glycemic peak.

IS FIBERPASTA INDICATED TO TREAT CONSTIPATION?

FiberPasta is very useful to treat constipation, a very widely spread problem nowadays. Eating enough fibre is the most important key to treating constipation. FiberPasta contains 15% fibre (more than twice the fibre as whole-wheat pasta). The amount of fibre also includes inulin fibre: inulin is an excellent soluble dietary fibre that promotes digestive health and stimulates the production of beneficial bacteria in the colon. While you increase your fiber intake, you should drink enough fluid in order to maintain adequate hydration the body.

IS FIBERPASTA SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN?

Yes, it is. A diet rich in fibre is recommended for children in order to fight against childhood obesity and diabetes. It is often difficult to persuade children to eat vegetables (as children's fibre intake), so FiberPasta can replace the lack of fibre. Only take care of the recommended daily fibre intake for children.
