Coal Tar Pitch is one kind of coal tar derivatives, whose only raw material is coal tar oil. BAOSHUN owns one group-owned coking plant with capacity of 1,300,000MT , and its all produced coal tar oil is only for Baoshun's use. Besides, Baoshun is very near to the main producing areas of coal tar oil in China, e.g. Henan Province, Hebei Province and Shanxi Province. In other words, Baoshun is with adequate supply of material to keep its production of 1,250,000MT evey year.
According to different softening points, there are usually three kinds of coal tar pitch respectively called as low-temperature CTP, medium-temperature CTP(soft pitch) and high-temperature CTP( also called as modified coal tar pitch or hard pitch). BAOSHUN produces two kinds of coal tar pitch, which are medium coal tar pitch and high-temperature CTP with softening point from 90 °c to 120 °c. BAOSHUN'S CTP are supplied to many large-scale carbon plants and aluminium smelters at home and aroad.
Coal Tar Pitch is obtained from powerfully processed coal tar. Compared to petroleum asphalt, the
adhesiveness is better. Coal TarPitch is high quality tar production with high fixed carbon.It has excellent adhesion, waterproofing and resistance against seawater, oil and various chemicals. With these properties, it's used as binding agent.
