Pacific Pumice provide a range of horticultural pumice products for vegetable and flower growing applications.
Our pumice is a sterile material with a neutral pH. It does not contain pathogenic organisms which can lead to root rot or other fungal diseases. Nor does it contain concentrations of elements, namely manganese that may adversely affect plant growth or result in crop failure.
The production of our range of pumice products is to ensure that optimum particle size range to suit a variety of applications. Pumice being a high vesicular volcanic rock allows significant amount of water to be stored within the particle and allowing this water to be taken up over time for plant growth. The high aeration and free draining nature of our pumice makes it suitable for a range of crops, especially those which have low tolerance to high levels of moisture in the root zone. The relatively free draining properties limits saturation in the root zone, preventing root rot.
Our horticultural pumice ensures:
- Optimum air filled and water filled porosity
- Superior root development
- Faster establishment of seedlings and cuttings
- Stable chemical structure
- Maximum productivity leading to greater production yield
- Free draining properties
