 Line of our business

Our firm is engaged in the manufacture and sale (wholesale and retail)

of traditional Japanese Hina dolls and samurai armor, in addition to sundry Japanese accessories and goods.

You may be familiar with the term " wa," which suggests the unique spirit of

Japanese cultural traditions.

The idea is said to come from the influence of Confucian ethics, a long part of

Japan's history, which emphasizes the avoidance of conflict and  a pursuit of harmony.

This concept encourages a spirit of respect and consideration towards others.

Wa-zakka are small accessories born out of these longstanding customs and rites:

though small and unassuming, they give off a subtle warmth and beauty.

♦ Certificate of Good Supplier ♦

We are certified by Japan Doll Association as good supplier on quality basis. Also, we are licensed as traditional craft maker.

Well skilled in cutting and shaping any kind of wood such as paulownia and MDF based on customer's request.

Well skilled in painting Japanese lacquar and any kind of paint based on customer's request.

One traditional Japanese craft is the art of gilt lacquerwork.

Called makie, from the verb "maku," meaning to sprinkle gold or silver powder,

the art of makie involves painting images, motifs, and text on lacquerware

and then accenting them with powder before the surface dries.

This adheres the gold or silver to the lacquerware's surface and creates luxurious,

textured finishes.

♦ Objective of Setting Samurai Armor ♦

<< Yoroi-kabuto: samurai armor decorations act as charms

for good health, long life, and influence >

Today's samurai armor decorations are said to have taken their shape after WWII.

Samurai armor was long held as a protective token, so it came to be used on

Boys' Day as a charm to protect boys from harm.

Takeda Shingen, a prominent military leader of Japan's feudal period, used

the famous Tatenashi Yoroi (or "Armor that needs no shield").

This suit was an heirloom of the Takeda clan and is now enshrined

in Kandaten Shrine in Enzan, Yamanashi Prefecture.

Other famous samurai armors are kept at shrines and temples around the country,

where they are enshrined as national treasures or objects of worship.

In this way, samurai armor came to be thought of not as a tool for battle,

but rather  a protective, consecrated object.

During the yearly Boys' Day celebrations on May 5th, you will find these charms

decorating spaces as tokens protecting young boys from accidents, illness, and injury.

♦ Objective of Setting “Hina” Doll ♦

<< Hina dolls: decorative charms bear blessings that girls grow up into

     healthy and beautiful women >>

On March 3rd, Japan celebrates the Hinamatsuri (Doll Festival, or Girls' Day).

In ancient times, dolls, called hitogata or katashiro, were constructed from wood,

paper, or simple straw and plants.

These effigies were believed to absorb a person's future misfortunes and bad spirits,

so they were put adrift in boats and sent out to sea, taking those bad spirits with them.

In the later Heian Era, the Hina Asobi, an early form of today's Doll Festival, took root.

Over time, these two rituals merged together as one, bringing us to the modern

Hinamatsuri as we now know it.

Parents thus display Hina dolls with wishes that their daughters grow up to be

healthy and beautiful women. As above, the doll acts as a recipient for bad spirits,

so it carries the wish that no misfortune befall a girl.

Accompanying that wish is a desire that the girl grows up healthy and beautiful,

is blessed with a good marriage, and enjoys good fortune in life.
