a. The los angeles machine comprises a heavy steel cylinder. rotated about itd horizontal axis.

a. The Los Angeles Abrasion Machine is used as a quality control tool for aggregates, including crushed rock, gravel and slag.
b. The testing method determines the degradation when subjected to abrasion, attrition, impact and grinding.
c. The sample is placed in the drum along with a hardened steel abrasive charge. After rotating the drum a specific number of times, samples are removed and examined for wear.
3. Using method
a. Install the machine on the stable smooth ground and fix it with foot wire.
b. Switch on the power,make the tumbling box rotating to the positive direction
c. Set the RPM according to the need.
d. Put the prepared aggregated rock and steel ball into the test cylinder,seal well, tighten the screws up,start the machine. It will stop automaticall when the preset rotating time is done.Then take out the sample.
e. Sieving the stone chippings in the sample with sieve of 2mm or square hole sieve with 1.6mm length.
f. Wash the sample left on the sieve with clean water. Dry it to get the constant weight and weigh its weight.
g. Order test results by regulations. Taking the average of the two results,but the testing error should be no more than 2% or redo the test.
