Optical Hard Coating Solution

HCG (Hello Coatings & inks Guru) Optical Hard Coating Solution is formulated for optical surfaces, such as the faces of a lens. The coating does not interfere with how the lenses function and does not affect vision, but creates a permanent bond with the lens that reduces the appearance of hairline scratches which is common to lenses.

Thinner: isopropanol (adjust the solid content to 26%-28% when in use)


Workpiece Preparation before Coating: 5 minutes ultrasonic cleaning using neutral detergent with 60°C warm water for removal of oil contaminants; further cleaning in deionized water (conductivity below 20μs) for 2 minutes then cleaning in Isopropanol for another 2 minutes. Wait till naturally dry before coating.


Pre-coating Stage: this product has to be filtered via PP filter (1μm) before use. For additional input of this product in production, it has to be fully circulated and filtered for 6 hours prior to further production. Otherwise, it may cause fisheye lenses.


Coating Process (generally applied via dip coating): immerse the workpiece in the coating solution for around 10 seconds and uplift at a speed of 20-30cm/min, then preheat for 10 minutes at 60-70°C, and finally put in an oven of constant temperature (120°C) for 120 minutes for full cure.


Specific Application Area: optical lenses, PC glasses, PC lenses, acrylic sun lens, PMMA lenses, PA lenses, CR-39 sun lens, displays, gauges and other instruments, mirrors, signs, eye safety/protective goggles, helmet visor, automotive window glass,automobile head light etc.


Packing and Storage: PTFE, PE, PP, stainless steel container are usual packaging choices. To avoid adverse chemical reaction, don’t not use PVC, silicone or carbon steel packaging. The product has a shelf life of no less than 3 months if stored in its original packing in a fresh and cool environment at a temperature below 25°C. Out of naked fire!
