Meikon latest aluminum camera housing for Sony rx100 III
Meikon first released the aluminum housings at the end of 2014 and finally get finishes at the beginning of 2015. The first batch of aluminum housings are for Sony rx100 III and will release alu camera housing for Sony rx100 II and rx100 and Canon G15 and G16.
Like most of the old type Meikon camera housings, this type housing has standard 0.75*67mm thread (we will check every thread by filter lens before we sell it since some of customers complained the misfit about the thread and filter lens thread), 1/4-20 tripod mounting holes, double fiber optic ports, improved secure locking latches and buttons. We also have some other improvement and changes.
This time, Meikon use aluminum alloy material and hard anodizing on the surface, which makes the housing much more durable than its polycarbonate housings. The lacquer
on the surface is more brighter than that on the PC housings. The better material lets the housing have a Max. depth of 100M/325ft, which is really a great improvement to Meikon.
The new housing use double white O-rings (Meikon has 3 colors of O-ring, white ones are the best quality).
As you can see in the picture above, there are 4 plates inside the right half of the housing. This is a new design of Meikon new products too. It helps protect and calibrate the place of camera in the housing.
The new aluminum housing for Sony rx100 III provides all controls to camera buttons.
Meikon also improved the shutter button on the right front. Meikon reduced the length of the arm since it will be easily broken underwater if it is too long.
As you can see in the picture above, the buttons design changes and improve a lot. But the most significant improvement will be the spring force tester. From now on, every meikon housing will have spring force test before it is shipped ( The problem that buttons don't work underwater at a certain depth is general among all brands housings). That means we will test every housing's button spring by a spring force tester to simulate the pressure of 40m depth underwater. Each housing will be pressed 5000 times, which will take about 45 minutes. This test will reduce the problem of buttons failure problem to the maxium extent.
In generation, the Meikon new aluminum housing for sony rx100 III is really a good option with such good performance and reasonable price. Meikon itself is always improving and adopting customer's good advice. What we can do for our sincere customers is to provide best product and service.
