FAQ

Question: Does this only work on mac?
Answer: Worked on Windows 8.1 like a charm. Out of the box.

Answer: The field of view is approximately 80 degrees. It is set with autoexposure and autofocus, although both of these can be changed if the right drivers are downloaded. I use Open CV 2 library.

Question: How do you fix the usb connection if the wires at the 4-pin plug cut off the board? is there any replacement for usb cable?
Answer:  My board-to-USB cable connection has a 4-pin connector. Not sure if you mean the connecotr broke off, or the wire snapped at the connector, but regardless, the easiest way to fix is to just trim off the wire and connector and solder it to the board. The pin order on mine (from edge inward) [Blk,Grn,Wht,Red] which corresponds to [Ground, Data+, Data-, 5V]. Mine is also marked on the board "GND","DP","DM","5V". If your entire cable is damaged just grab any other USB cable (so long as it is shielded and contains data wires, which some of the more flimsy-feeling "power only" cables won't) and cut off the device end. If you don't know how to solder, just go to your local Makerspace and ask someone to show you how.

Question: How do you get the 60Hz framerate specified? I get less than 30Hz for all resolutions on windows and linux.
Answer: Plug and play with Windows 10, camera app, the settings button lets you switch to 720p @ 60Hz. I just tried it and windows reports that's what the video is (59.49fps, actually).
