Lightning™ High Speed Vitrectomy Module
With the Millennium™ Microsurgical System's Lightning™ High Speed Vitrectomy Module, the vitrectomy procedure is performed with an electrically operated guillotine type cutter that draws the vitreous material into the port. The vitreous is then cut and aspirated into the disposable collection container through the attached tubing.

Phacoemulsification and phacofragmentation refer to the process of ultrasonic disintegration of the lens using a vibrating needle operating at a frequency above the audio range. Phacoemulsification refers to an anterior chamber procedure, and phacofragmentation refers to a posterior chamber procedure. The Millennium™ Microsurgical System Ultrasound Module is available as a single port phacoemulsification module, a single port phacofragmentation module, or a dual port module which supports both (Elite). The electrical connections are identified by a white ring for phacoemulsification and a yellow ring for phacofragmentation.

Module provides the capability to generate the required injection pressures and aspiration vacuums for injecting viscous fluids and basic salt solution into the eye, as well as aspirate viscous fluids from the eye during posterior segment surgery. The Viscous Fluid Module will deliver up to 70 psi (482.6 kPa, 4.8 bar) of pneumatic pressure to the disposable tube set. Fiber optic illumination for intraocular viewing is accomplished with the Millennium™ Microsurgical System's Illumination Module. Two ports provide simultaneous operation with independent control. Each source may be independently adjusted for intensity. The light transmitted to the patient will have a spectral content between 400 nm and 750 nm, and an average luminous output of 60 candela per square millimeter. The Function Switch may be programmed to turn lamp 1 or lamp 2 On or Off. The Lamp window must be displayed for the rocker switch to have this control.
Iridex Laser Module
The Laser module is controlled by a separate foot switch that is integrated into the Millennium system. The convenience of all of the systems contained in one cart makes the set up and operation of the Millennium that much easier. Comes with 6 goggles and a variety of fibers to get you started.
Bipolar coagulation is accomplished with the Millennium™ Microsurgical System's Coagulation Module. Bipolar forceps or pencil handpieces are used as electrodes.
Coagulation is selectable at all times, and available when displayed on the screen. Coagulation power may be adjusted from 0% to 100% of the output power using the up/down arrow keys as follows:
