Venus is an application recording and reporting sales. It is based on data warehouse reflecting sales company interests. Data will be entered through core application interface, web site or palmtop. Customers use web site to enter orders and rejects, merchandisers use palmtops to connect to the system. Palmtop software is prepared for off-line working and connections established in order to synchronize data.
One of the main functions of the application is orders processing. Orders are made by customers, merchandisers or core application users. After the order comes into the system, database containing regions and business units (customers and suppliers) expands. In addition, expansion of company departments and employees is connected with profiles creation. Profiles describe scopes of employee work in terms of particular customers and products. It has impact on size of data processed by palmtop device.
Financial functionality covers issues related to creation of invoices and receipts. Users can also edit payment types, taxes and exchange types and rates.
Products processing is another part of the application. There are forms which allow to create a new product, enter its cost and determine price. Creating promotions is also possible here.
All system users have accounts and roles, which denote set of privileges. They are managed by administrator.
As reporting is a key-functionality there is a tool for creating special reports, although set of standard reports is also available.
