Yohimbine is an alkaloid found in yohimbe bark that has been traditionally used as a stimulant and an aphrodisiac. Yohimbe extracts have been traditionally used to increase libido and in studies has been shown to also treat erectile dysfunction by increasing bloodflow to the genitals. Because yohimbe extracts have been known to increase energy in the bodies of those who take them, yohimbine has now become extremely popular with bodybuilders who take yohimbine for the increase in energy and fat loss that it provides.
