The elephant god is standing between two ranges of attendants and dancers. He takes with his trunk some candies from the pot he holds in his left hand. On the top of the stele, his parents Shiva and Parvati are sitting together, framed with Vishnu on the right side and Skanda, Ganesh's bother, on the left side.
This beautiful piece comes from Madhya Pradesh, Central India, in the era of Khajuraoh, main religious town of the Chandela dynasty.
