is also known as expansion joint or expansion bend.
Pipeline compensator joint is also known as expansion joint or expansion bend. The mail body is the bellows (a flexible element),and it is also composed with some accessories like side tubes, brackets, flanges and conduit tube etc.
It is a kind of compensation components. By using the bellows affective extensional deformation, to absorb pipe, ducts and containers size expansion and contraction which is caused by heat and cold, or to compensate the pipelines, conduits and containers axial, lateral and angular displacement. It is also widely used for industry noise reducing and shock absorption.
Compensator joint way:
Compensator joint way include flange joint and weld joint. For the direct-burried pipeline compensator, it usually use weld joint way. (except trench installation)
Installation and application:
1. Before installation, need to check the models, specifications and pipeline configuration. Must meet design and technical requirements.
2. For the compensator with inner sleeves, need to pay attention to keep inner sleeves in the same direction with media flow. For the hinge type compensator, hinge rotation plane should be same with displacement rotation plane.
3. For the compensator which need for “cold tight”, the assist parts used for pre-deformation should be removed until pipeline installation is finished.
4. It is strictly prohibited to use compensator deformation to adjust pipeline installation out-of-tolerance, to avoid affect compensator normal function, reduce its service life and increase pipe system, device and supports parts load bearing.
5. During installation, do not let welding slag splashing onto shell surface. Do not let shell have other mechanical damages.
6. After installation, need to remove the yellow location assist parts and fasten parts as soon as possible. And adjust stop block device to define position as design requirement, to let compensator have enough compensation capacity.
7. All the actives components do not be locked by outside parts. Do not limit active components moving scope. Need to keep all active parts normal action.
8. When do hydraulic pressure test, in order to make sure pipeline do not move or rotate, need to fasten the end second-fixing pipe frame of the pipeline which is installed compensator. For the compensator used for gas media, when fill water, pay attention whether need to add temporary supports. Washing liquid 96 chloridion contents should not be more than 25PPM.
9. After hydraulic pressure test, need to drain the water and dry off bellow inner surface as soon as possible.
