Y662Bpo Heavy Polyester Putty is an advanced clog-free, heavy weight body filler for today's high-tech metals. Superior adhesion to galvanized steel, bare steel and aluminum
It is a High Performance Body Filler designed for professional use to Use for heavy filling and repair of body damaged panels up to 1/4" in depth
FEATURES & BENEFITS:
European cured system, with red cream hardener included
Superior adhesion and featheredging on corrosion treated metals, including hot dipped steel.
Vacuum processed for increased shelf life and reduced pinholes
Creamy texture for smoother spreading
Metal preparation does not require as coarse of a disc, therefore, reducing heat warping and pinholes in the featheredge
Clog free formula for improved initial sanding with no sandpaper clogging
Faster abrasive cutting; reducing labor costs
Excellent featheredge adhesion; eliminates peel back during sanding
Shows excellent dry sand ability, pinhole-free and will not clog sanding paper, especially with sanding machines
This putty is cold-curing, even at low temperatures
It is also stain resistant
Steel, galvanized and other zinc coated steel, SMC, fiberglass and aluminum. For structural repairs prone to high degrees of stress and flexibility, use a fiber glass reinforced body filler. See 313 Fiber Glass Reinforced BODY FILLER Product Information Sheets for more information
Clean and degrease the entire panel to be repaired with soap and water, followed by a mild cleaning solvent. Thoroughly dry surface before repairing. Keep the repair area small. Grind repair area with 40 - 50 grit for large areas, or 80 grit for small areas, removing only the paint. Use 80 grit to remove the 40-50 grit marks and to featheredge the paint. Featheredge inward toward the repair
Stir the body filler before using. Knead the cream hardener. Measure hardener 2% by weight (add a ribbon of cream hardener from edge to edge across the center of a 10cm diameter puddle). Puddles larger than 10cm in diameter will require additional hardener. Mix thoroughly until uniform color is achieved
Apply in thin layers and spread smoothly. Do not blob on or apply all at once.
Sand down body filler with 40 grit to 80 grit sandpaper (use 40 grit as an initial cut only when necessary to knock down high spots) Avoid coarse sand scratches outside the filler area during the initial cut. Finish sand body filler with 80 grit. Sand bare metal and featheredge with 180 grit to remove 80 grit scratches.
