Mold Making Silicone Rubber For Casting Of Poly Resin
1, Poly resin also called polyethylene resin which is a mixture of polyethylene and unsaturated polyester resin. Poly resin has excellent low temperature resistant property, chemical stability and resistance of corrosion of acid and alkaline, and was widely used in manufactory of handcraft, bathroom appliance and so on.
2, According to the characteristic of poly resin, serious of special room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber are produced to satisfy the various demands of customers. Our silicone rubber which have good operability, high tear strength, chemical resistance, low deformation, are mainly used in reproduction of decoration and handcrafts from poly resin.
Instruction And Professional Guidance
1, There are two big types of silicone rubber for mold making in our company: condensation cure (tin catalyst) silicone rubber and addition cure (platinum catalyst) silicone rubber.
2, As for making mold for poly resin, condensation cure silicone rubber is better. During the curing period of poly resin, there will occur chemical reaction which will release high quantity of heat. If you used addition cure rubber, small molecules will come into the mold, therefore burned the mold, as a result, reproduction times will decrease. Condensation cure will not. So it is ideal to choose condensation for making poly resin mold.
3, About choosing hardness
First, if size of your products is very large, you need to choose a little higher hardness, such as 40, 45, 50, 50…. In the contract, if size is small, just need to choose soft silicone rubber.
Second, if details of your products are complicated, we need to choose soft hardness for you, as rubber can tightly fit every small corner of the master mold. In the contract, if details are easy, 30, 35 hardness is better.
4, About viscosity
Generally speaking, it depends on whether you have a vacuum chamber.
(1)If you do not have a vacuum chamber, we need to choose low viscosity for you, for
bubbles can easily release, therefore will not influence the property, what’s more, not
destroy the design.
(2)If you have a vacuum chamber, viscosity is not a problem.
5, About Color
(1) We can produce the simple pure color, such as red, blue, green, yellow, purple and so on.
(2) We can also produce your needing complicated color, such as silver, gold color, but need your palette.

(1) Take out a certain amount of liquid silicone base (part A)from the container;
(2). Take out a certain amount of liquid silicone base (part B) from the container and mix with part A.
(3). The two components of silicone rubber must be mixed homogeneously, otherwise, it will be partly cured and solidified;
(4). Deaerate in a vacuum cupboard to achieve bubble free vulcanization;
Note: If no vacuum de-airing equipment is available, air entrapment can be minimized by mixing a small quantity of A and B component, then using a brush, painting the original with a 1-2mm layer. Leave at room temperature until the surface is bubble free and the layer has begun to cure. Mix a further quantity of base and curing agent and proceed as follows to produce a final mold.
(5). Pouring the deaerated mixture over the highest point of the model to form casting mould;
(6). Demolding after the liquid silicone solidified thoroughly.
(7). The mixed liquid silicone rubber will solidified in 3-4 hours under room temperature.
