Inshell Hazelnuts are from varieties (cultivars) grown from Corylus avellana L. And Corylus maxima Mill and their hybrids without involucre or husk and which are intended for direct consumption.
TYPES: According to the their shapes inshell hazelnuts are named differently such as : Tombul (round), Badem (Almond), Palaz, Fosa, Mincane, Cakildak, Sivri (Pointed) etc.. From all these types of hazelnuts, round kernels (Giresun quality round hazelnuts, palaz, fosa) are the most appropriate ones for the hazelnut processing industries due to the high fat content.
USAGE AREA: Used as raw hazelnuts after cracking the shells or sometimes used as snack by cracking and mixing with salt.
CALIBRATION: 6 different calibrations from 12mm to 22mm
PACKING: In jute bags or vacuum bags in cartonboards
