RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE AND CARE:

It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that all the following recommendations are observed.

1.     Always inspect the bag before use for any defects/damage that may affect its safe operation and discard if unsuitable.

2.     Do not exceed the safe working load or load unevenly.

3.     Ensure that all necessary health and safety precautions are observed when using the bag.

4.     Do not allow the bag to come into contact with any sharp edges especially when under load.

5.     Only use lifting gear that is tested and approved for the purpose- check that no sharp edges will come into contact with the bag when under load.

6.     Do not allow persons to be underneath a suspended bag.

7.     Do not leave a suspended bag unattended at any time.

8.     Do not lift the bag if the slings are twisted.

9.     Avoid snatch or shock loading during lifting or transportation.

10.  When transporting loaded, ensure the bag is properly secure.

11.  Always consider the possibility of static electric shock.

12.  Do not allow the bag to remain under load if this could result in damage.

13.  Do not drag the bag or subject it to any abrasion or contact with chemicals that may affect its strength.

14.  Under no circumstances use a damaged or second-hand bag, or try to repair the bag.

15.  Protect the bag from prolonged sunlight and rain.

16.  Do not store or dry near a source of heat.

Inspection before uses:

Bags should be examined throughout their length for surface chafe, cross or longitudinal cuts in webbing, cuts or chafe damage to the salvage, of any damage to the stitching. The affect of the chafe on the fabric surface is variable, but some loss of strength should be expected. Any substantial chafe, particularly localized, should be viewed critically. Local abrasion, as distinct from general wear, may be caused by passage of slings over sharp edges whilst under tension and may cause a serious loss of strength. Chemical attack is indicated by local weakening or softening of the material in the webbing so the surface fibers can be plucked or rubbed off, as a powder in extreme cases. Cuts particularly at the selvedges, will result in a serious loss of strength. A bag so affected should be taken out of service immediately. Seams should not be allowed to deteriorate.
