SolCool Solar Hybrid Air Con Millennia
The patented low power Millennia is similar to a conventional package unit that produces 1.5 tons/18,000 BTU of air conditioning but using only a fraction of the power; actually it uses over 50% less energy than some of the highest efficiency conventional equipment.
The Sustainable DC Millennia HVAC features are unique in the world with an on board charge controller that can be wired to accept renewable direct DC power or grid power. With a 2 to 12 hour backup battery bank capability, the Millennia requires very little renewable energy to run completely independent all day and night. This makes the Millennia one of a kind for zero emission climate control. The 1.5 Ton Millennia is completely scaleable, units can be combined or zoned for 2-10 ton applications.
Each Millennia Package System has its own variable speed, DC blower that overcomes 1.5 inches of static pressure in ducted applications.
The Millennia Package and Split Systems easily installs in attics, the outside, utility closets, a garages & warehouse. A wheeled, portable version that is fully charged can be easily operated remotely for up to 12 hours between charges. DC options that can be integrated into the Millennia Package and Split Systems are; Ceiling Fans, Power Ports, Lighting and UV Air Sanitizing Lights.
What is in the pipeline?
Currently in production are the 1.5ton duct-split systems. Many units have been shipped to places like California, Arizona, Mexico, West Australia, Canada, India and an eco-resort in Thailand (Sixth Senses SPA & Resort).
Units with bigger capacity, 2 tons, 3 tons and 5 tons will be in production in the next few months. These units will handle 2 to 5 air handlers (in-door blower), which can be used for industrial climate control.
Next we have the 1.5ton Package System (standalone unit), with similar capacity, expected to be ready in April 2008. These units are great as a portable air conditioner, which can operate wirelessly with charged battery packs for up to 12 hours or more.
