√ Offers improvements in reliability
√ Low maintenance does not require adjustment
√ No moving parts : Reduces system complexity
√ Smooth, (almost) step-less variation of resistance with motor speed
√ Heat energy is distributed mainly in the iron core
√ Reduces Electrical stresses in the motor
√ Reduces Mechanical stresses in the drive in motion
√ Ideal retrofit where supply can accommodate some additional current
√ No control functions just impedance variation with tapping settings
√ Not a pure resistance has an inductive component
√ Can be custom designed as per customers requirements
We have applied Eddy-Current and Closed-Circuit technology with step-less starting to all our Eddy Current Starters. Our starters are built as per NEMA and ANSI Standards meeting the provisions of the National Electric Safety Code.
Eddy Current Starters are extensively being used to replace existing manually operated wound rotor starters and liquid rotor starters. Our Eddy Current Starters have a unique inducer system for starting Wound-Rotor Induction Motors, offering considerable improvements in maintenance and reliability.
Eddy-Current Starters require only one shorting contactor in the rotor circuit, thus reducing the system complexity. The inducer acts as the current-limiting rotor impedance during run-up, and is connected across the rotor winding. The rotor winding is bypassed by a shorting contactor, which is connected across the inducer. The inducer is operated by a timer to shortout the rotor when full speed is reached. This provides simplicity in the system.
EddyCurrent Starters provide smooth accelerationto full speed and thus reduce electrical and mechanical stresses in the motor and drive.
Inducers incorporated in our Eddy Current Starters have no moving parts and will give many years of service without any maintenance or adjustment.
Eddy Current Starters are designed to start a wide range of motors. With the aid of selective tappings provided in the inducer, the user is able to select the exact starting torque and stator current required on commissioning.
We have designed both Air-Cooled and Oil-Cooled Eddy Current Starters. We use Rittal enclosures for all our Air-Cooled Eddy Current Starters. For our Oil-Cooled Eddy Current Starters, we have designed enclosures with strict QA systems.
All of our contactors and relays are sourced and supplied by Siemens / Schneider for easy interchangeability, in case spares are required.
The control wiring is done as per NEMA standards, and the load wiring is carriedout with Glass Insulated and Varnish Coated wires, which can withstand high temperatures and voltage, should any external fault happen. Appropriate Fuses are provided ensuring no damages to the control wiring, in case of short-circuit.
The Eddy Current Starters can also be supplied with RS-232 Port for online information of the status of the running load.
We supply a varied range of Control and Mains Voltages as per the customers requirements.
