The extraction process uses physical means and only pure water.Its origins date back to 1901, when it was invented by an American-Japanese chemist Satori Kato, from Chicago. Its mass commercialisation was not to come about for another forty years: 1938 ð Nestlé produce a soluble Powder, comprising 50% maltodextrins and50 % coffee extract. 1950 ð General Food manages to produce a 100% coffee powder. 1957 ð SEDA SOLUBLES launches its first Instant Coffee. 1960 ð The techniques for producing instant coffee are improved,incorporating Freeze-drying. 1968 ð Granules are introduced. 1970 ð SEDA SOLUBLES launches its first Instant Coffee Granules.
