1 About truffle

Truffle grows underground in the forest. As the most expensive edible fungi, Truffle is world famous by its unique falvor and culture. The European people regarded it as black diamond in the forest.

For thousand years, these truffles are rare cate. Though they are not good in looking, the excellent taste makes it rank the first three cates together with caviar and goose liver.

  Human being has been eating truffles for thousand years, ancient Greece and Rome like them very much, They worship the King of Love with truffle. It is said that Napoleon had a son after eating the balck truffle. 2 Truffle resource all over the world

There are only two commercial truffle growing centers all over the world.

One in Europe: along the Alps Mountains, such as Italy, Spain, France.

The other in China Southwest: Sichuan panzhihua and Yunnan Province.

The total output all over the world is about 1000-2500 Tons, China occupies 200-300 Tons, about a quarter of the total output.

3 Environment requirement

Truffle have strict requirements on the growing environment, small change on the environment woud effect the gorwth of the truffle.

Usually, truffle grows on the root of Eiche tree, Beech tree, Pines trees and Oak trees.

Climate: wettish subtropical monsoon climate region

Underground temperature: 20-30 cm about 19 .

Original: France, Spain, Italy

Season: December to March.

White truffle

Scientific name: Tubermagnatum

Original: Italy

Season: October to December

Summer truffle

Scientific name:Tuber aestivum

Season: May to September.

China truffle

Scientific name: Tuber indicuum

Season: November to February

5 Harvest:

Ripe truffle release male hormone which attracts female animals. In the main truffle growing countries, training dogs to find truffle is still popular. The quality of truffle differs because of the different species and environments.

6 About China truffle hometown.

In May 2008, Panzhihua City was rewarded as the China truffle hometown, Panzhihua has much advantages for truffle growing. From the climate and forest trees, they have much advantage.

They have got support from the Italy government and they are trying to cultivate truffle by getting truffle spawn vaccinated on tree roots.

They have built up a lab center for the truffle research and have succeed in the truffle spawn vaccinating on tree roots. And they are trying to build a 2000 ton air-conditioned cold store, a truffle facturary for packing and deep processing.    Grade B: no insect, no dirt, full mature, small wound allowed, full mature , Gunuine mature truffle flavor. Beautiful white and black Marble veins on the cut facets.

Package:

  In vacuum bags, then in foam boxes, then in carton

 With one or two ice bags in a foam box to guarantee the low temperature environment. thus can keep the truffle fresh.
