In order to preserve our traditional culture and revive the Chinese opera, we have imitated many famous opera performers. The costumes of the puppets are going though a thousand processes, whose costumes, painting, make-up are all make by hand using the traditional method.
All the woodwork was beautifully carved, and carefully finished by Jiang Xiao, who is the general director of the woodcarving council and had won the gold medal of woodcarving.
Costumes are designed by the national first class fashion designer- Ye Wei Zao of the Shanghai Peking Opera, Kun Opera.
Headdress showed the skillful technique of Dian cui (by using the feather of kingfishers to stick on the jewelry), which is nearly lost.
About production technology
All fabric used is one hundred percent natural silk and dyed in accordance with ancient Chinese methods. Real gold is used in patterns to guarantee a sumptuous finish. All designs are woven according to the Suxiu method which is famous for its exquisite, fine and dense appearance.
Items are hand woven and each thread as fine as 1/4 to 1/20 of a millimeter. There are over a thousand different coloured threads and for each colour ten different shades may be used. Moreover, certain items require one to two hundred different colours and as a result all patterns portray a painted look.
One hand woven item can take as long as one month to complete and due to the fact that the number of people persuing this ancient art is declining, the average age of the weavers is over fifty years. Furthermore, this ancient art of hand weaving Chinese Opera Clothing is facing extinction and at present there are only three artisans in China. Ye Wen Zao, who is a first class traditional Chinese clothing designer, has been appointed to the position of supervisor to ensure the authenticity of all items.
All miniatures are exact scaled replicas of the originals used in Chinese Opera and are suitable for displaying in the home or office. These are perfect for collectors and appreciators of fine works of art.

Zhong Kui is the exorcist par excellence. It is said that he was a scholar but was attacked by demons, who altered his physical appearance, turned his face black, and gave him a comic beard. He took part in an examination and passed; at the ensuing examination, however, he was turned down because of his exceptionally hideous appearance. Deeply humiliated, he committed suicide by dashing his head against the palace steps decades earlier. , In Hell, however, he was admired and was given an army of 3,000 soldiers to help him slay demons. His image was believed to scare away ghosts and other malicious influences. For which, Zhong Kui became a popular figure in folk religion.
