Operation instruction

1.     Description of lights: The green light means the power light and will flash permanently under any condition other than the trun-off of power supply,the blue light and orange light mean the light for operating states of the camera and will vary with the operating states of the camera

2.     Description of HOLD: When HOLD key on the top side means taking pictures.When the key on the bottom side means video recording.

3.     Startup and Record:When the unit is set to ON and the button is pressed short,the green and orange light are on and the camera goes to the initialization state.After the completion of initialization,the orange light is off while the green and blue lights flash permanently and you can start the visual recording.

Note:after each restart,the unit will go to the initialization state,During the process of initialization,the system is busy and you shall not operate it,for example,pressing the button repeatedly or connecting the unit with a computer,The duration of such initialization will vary  with the memory size.

4.     Record and Save:

Pls attention the following points:

A:Short press the button in the recording state to stop recording and save the video file .

B:If the battery is low during visual recording,the camera will save the file and turn off automatically,please charge it..

C:For continuous recording,the camera will save the file once after each 120min and keep recording until the battery is used up,the camera is turned off manually or the power is turned off.

D:The loop operation of each starting and stopping of recording will generate a new video file.

E:It will take some time to save a file and do not operate it during the process when the light is shifted from blue to orange,for example,directly turning off the power,pressing the button respeatedly,connecting it with a computer,or the previously recorded file can not be saved smoothly or the camera does not react to your operation any more.

F:Please use it under a condition with sufficient illumination and keep its body straight and stable while keeping a distance of more than 30cm from it so as to ensure the correction direction,natural color,clear image and stable picture of a recording.

G:The video file will be saved in built-in memory.If TF card is put in the card slot,the file will be saved in the TF card auotomatically.

5.     Continuous recording:Short press the button when the light is in orange in a standby state in order to go to the recording state after the orange indicator is off and the blue indicator flashed permanently.

Note:You shall refer to the precautions under the clause 4 hereinabove for each recording.

6.     Turn off:Long press the button in VIDEO or STANDBY state, all lights will be turned off .That means the camera is shut off .Please move the key to OFF position if you want to turn off the power of battery.

Note:When you press the button long to turn off the unit in VIDEO state.The system will save the current video file automatically.You have to press the button long enough until the light turns off.

7.     Connect with computer:You can connect it with a computer in OFF (all lights are off) or STANDBY state ( the orange light flashes and the blue light is off).Then the computer will appear the USB Disc icon, with the directory to save the video file at Disc\MOVIE\RECORD;when you take out the USB Disc, please click the USB control icon in the Task List at the lower right corner of the screen so as to unload the USB Disc;you can disconnect the camera from the computer after the computer confirms such unloading.

Note:It will take a little longer time for the computer to identify the USB Disc according to the computer button during such waiting time so as not to interfere the computer for indentify the hardware,If the USB Disc cannot be identified over a longer time,please try to inset the disc again.If the disc cannot be indentified again,then you have to confirm if the operating system,driver,USB interface &connection line are normal;when you unload the unit,youd better to operate as required by the normal procedure so as not to cause any damage to the camera or the computer.

8.     Charging:Plug in the USB Cable in OFF or STANDBY state and connect it to the computers USB interface.The orange light will flash regularly if the battery power is low---meaning that the unit is in the general charging state and in such case,please click the USB Disc icon in the Task List at the lower right corner to unload the disc (do not disconnect the USB Cable) and then long press the button,the blue light flash regularly meaning the charging in the OFF state.When the battery is charged fully,the orange light flashes permanently and the blue light is off.

Note:The camera is provided with the built-in hi-capacity lithium battery.The battery has no memory effect and can be charged at anytime,but it has to be charged fully after having been used up for the first five times of charging so as to activate the maximum capacity of the battery and obtain the standard operating time.Users are recommended to charge it in OFF state (the blue light flashes).

9.     Time setting:The camera can display the recording time on the video file in the format of Year-month-day hour:min:second.Such time can be set up as below:

a.     Create a notepad file with the extension name.TXT and enter a time as below shown in the format 2008-07-15 16:10:28.Such time is your current local time.Please check the text formatting carefully to ensure a correct time.Or you can modify directly in the CD-contained example file and then save & apply.

b.     Created a new name for text file asuserconfig.txt

c.     Connect the Pen Camera with a computer and copy useconfig.txt into the root directory of USB Disc after the appearance of USB Disc on the screen.

d.     Disconnect the hardware and start up the Pen Camera and the time setting is completed after the completion of ready-record process.

e.     The set time will be saved in the Pen Camera.

10. Exception handling:The camera will stop reacting occasionally due to misoperation or other reasons.If so,please turn off the power supply directly and then turn on it again.
