Character: white crystals powder, melting point about 125°C, can dissolve in normal organic solvent (such as glycol), dissolve in water appreciably (1.5g DBNPA dissolve in 100g water at 25°C); can be easily deoxidized by reduced (such as sulfureted hydrogen), then turn into nontoxic nitrilopropionamide, half life shorten with the PH increasing.
Usage: used extensively as a slimicide/bactericide in both air wash and cooling water
systems. Product kills quickly and at low ppm (dosage) levels. DBNPA disperses
rapidly and naturally by increasing PH DBNPA liquid is widely used in pulp and
paper water treatment applications. It is widely used in cooling water due to
its high cost relative to other agents. The liquid formulations of DBNPA contain
DBNPA (white solid), sodium bromide, hydrobromic acid, hypobromous acid, tetraethylene glycol, and water. The liquid formulation is an oxidizing formulation and
is similar to bleach and sodium bromide-bleach combinations. The liquid formulation
is oxidizing because of the hypobromous acid in the formulation.
