The Complete Explosion Proof System for the 2400 Vertical consists of 5 different items.
Manual Purge System - A device used in the hazardous area to manually flush explosive gases from the membrane keypad enclosure.
Control Enclosure - UL 508 Type Nema -12, single door with fusible disconnect and floor stand kit, to house motor drive and all control electronics for vertical.
Purged Membrane Keypad Control - Keypad permits automatic movement of carousel, control housed inside Type Nema -12 enclosure and manually purged.
Intrinsically Safe Supervisors Panel - Supervisors panel allows operator to turn power on, manual operation and selection of AUTO or MANUAL of carousel.
Intrinsically Safe Safety Assembly - Consists of all intrinsically safe photo eyes and safety switches.
Description of Equipment
Purge System - This system includes a Control Unit, which will monitor internal pressure with a gauge after the purge cycle. After operator purges the system, an internal pressure greater than that of the outside environment is established. The positive pressure within the enclosure prevents explosive vapors from invading the MEMBRANEKEYPAD.
Control Enclosure - Located in the SAFE area away from any hazardous vapors, is Single Door, Type Nema-12 with a Fusible Disconnect, will house the Intrinsic barriers, Regen Motor Drive, Drive Controller RMI-117 PC BD, WHT-100 PC BD, WSRS-1007 Sensor PC BD and all additional electronics for carousel.
Purged Membrane Keypad - Housed in Type Nema-12 enclosure. Enclosure will also contain Imbalance Load Indicator, Interlock Status LEDs and Door Active Status Leeds. This enclosure will be purged and monitored by the purged system described above. Keypad will be located in the Hazardous area, at the carousel.
Supervisors Panel - located in front of carousel, a selctor switch for Auto-Manual, key switch for Off-On, Power Reset PB and Up-down selector switch are all located on this panel. Intrinsic barriers located inside the Nema-12 Control Encl. protect all these cirucits from any electrical sparks.
Safety Assembly - Contains all intrinsically safe photo eyes and safely switches, Switches and Photo eyes are located at carousel. To prevent an explosion, photo eyes and all safety switcheds are connected to intrinsic barriers inside Nema-12 control Encl
