The furnace is constructed out of thick gauge mild steel outer shell reinforced with angle and channel iron framework to make the equipment mechanically rigid. The inner chamber is formed by Alumina Bricks & Ceramic fibre blanket. The furnace is thickly insulated with ceramic fibre to reduce the radiation heat loss to minimum. The furnace will have refractory hearth, which will withstand heavy loads at high temperature. Suitable holes are provided for exhaust vent and hole for thermocouple. The furnace is heated by Kanthal heating coil wounded over porcelain tubes and placed on the three sides or Silicon Carbide Elements, or MoSi2 elements . The power to the heating elements will be through thyristor power control device. The temperature of the furnace will be uniform through out the inner chamber. Due care is taken for easy individual replacement of heating element. The temperature controlled by Digital PID controller or Programmable type controller working in conjunction with suitable thermocouple with thyristor power control device.
