General description
- ECOWIN-H biocontrol is a naturally occurring, insect parasitic nematode that searches out, enters and controls the target insect pests
- ECOWIN-H is active only against insect pests
This nematode has not been genetically modified in any way - ECOWIN-H can be used on fruit, nut, vine crops, field crops, row crops, ornamental, turf, landscape, nursery and greenhouse situations
Contents
- Active ingredient :
Insect parasitic nematodes, Heterorhabditis bacteriophora 70% - Other ingredients : Inert carrier and water 30%
Total 100% - 60 million beneficial nematodes Infective juveniles of Heterorhabditis bacteriophora
- Read and follow all label instructions including
Target
- Larvae of various species of Curculionids, such as the vine weevil Otiorhynchus sulcatus
- Larvae of Hepialus lupulinus
Directions for use
- A Box(3 pack), 1pack(40g) mixed 20 million nematodes with sponge, treats 1,000/Box
- In order to separate nematodes from the sponge in ECOWIN-H, put it into a sealed plastic pack of water(8~10 liters) at 15~25oC/60~77°F and push off nematodes in hands
- Dilute the remaining nematodes with 200 liters of 15~25oC(59~77°F) water
- Stir well the resolution in order not to have nematodes easily settled
- The solution can be applied directly using several ways (a watering can, hose end sprayer, backpack sprayer, pump sprayer, through irrigation and misting systems)
- Release early in the morning or at dusk when temperatures are cooler and the sun is not so bright
- You had better use a complete bottle of nematodes at a time for homogeneity reasons
To apply by ground spraying for all surface spraying equipment
- Apply to moist soil when soil temperatures are between 12~30oC/54~86°F
- If soil temperature is higher than 30oC/86°F, irrigate with at least 0.1"(one-tenth of an inch) of water to reduce temperature before applying ECOWIN-H
- Use a minimum rate of 200 gallons (760L) of water per acre(4,050)
- For optimal results, irrigation of at least 0.1" of water must be applied following the application of ECOWIN-H
- Time the irrigation to within 30 minutes under hot, dry conditions and within 2 hours under cool, wet conditions
- Remove all in-line or nozzle filters of 50 mesh or less
- Do not exceed a 300 psi(21 kgf/cm²)pump pressure
To apply by ground spraying air blast spraying equipment
- Apply when air temperatures are between 15~25oC/60~77°F
- Use a minimum rate 400 gallons(1,520L) of water per acre(4,050)
- For optimum results, irrigation of at least 0.1 of water must be applied prior to, and following, the application of ECOWIN-H
- Time the irrigation to within 30 minutes under hot, dry conditions and within 2 hours under cool, wet conditions
- Apply as a coarse, low-pressure spray to the point of run off on the bark areas from the ground level up into the scaffolds of the tree
- Remove all in-line or nozzle filters of 50 mesh or less
- Do not exceed a 300 psi(21 kgf/cm²) pump pressure
Knapsack sprayer application
- Make up stock solution by suspending 1 pack in 8~10 liters(2 gallons) of water in a clean bucket
- Agitate the stock solution and dilute as follows :
- Take 1 liter of stock solution and make up 5 liters in the knapsack
- Keep solution agitated and apply immediately at 100mL/m2 or 2.8 fluid ounces per 9 ft2 (5 liters will cover 50 m2 or 540 ft2)
- Repeat with rest of the stock solution
Boom sprayer application
- Partly fill tank with cool clean water
- Start the agitator and keep running until application is completed
- Empty the appropriate number of packs into a large bucket, add 10 liters water and mix thoroughly
- Rinse bucket contents into the tank
- Add required volume of additional water to the tank
- Apply spray suspension
Application conditions
- To avoid desiccation of the nematodes
- Avoid direct sunlight and make application during early morning or late afternoon/evening
- Application during rain is highly desirable
- Ensure soil is moist prior to application and for at least two weeks after
- It is very important to irrigate immediately after application to move the nematodes below the thatch layer
- Soil should be between 12~30oC/54~86oF at application
- The soil should be moist
- Use entire pack at one time
- Use nematodes immediately after mixing
- Agitate nematodes constantly during application
Precautions
- Do not if past expiry date or incorrectly stored
- This product is compatible with many commonly applied pesticides but some chemicals may reduce the viability and efficacy of product (Details are available from your ECOWIN distributor
