When the vehicle is in reverse gear, the sensor attached on the rear part of the vehicle detects an obstacle by transmitting and receiving ultrasonic pulses to/from the obstacle. The controller calculates the distance from the obstacle and send the distance signal to buzzer/LED or display. The buzzer/LED or display warns the driver by making alarm sound or showing the distance from the obstacle. This system is designed to assist the driver to avoid any damage to the vehicle or accidents during parking. As the ultrasonic sensor detects obstacles in the back area like street tree, parking meter, car or other projecting objects and then makes/shows different alarm sound/the distance from the obstacle in accordance with the position of the obstacle, the driver can easily and comfortably park the car in the limited space with the least danger of hitting the obstacle.
