Bajaj Auto and Renault's plan of launching an ultra small car is likely to be delayed due to differences over branding between the two companies. Moreover, the two partners are yet to sign a final JV agreement.

A formal deal was supposed to be signed in November 2008 but was postponed. Both partners are already disputing over the design, positioning and some technical specifications of the new car. While Renault-Nissan has been in favour of a cost competitive car, Bajaj Auto has always stressed on fuel efficiency over price. The car, as per the original plans, was to be launched by 2011.
