Detailed Product Description

Our Dura-Thatch product has the look and feel of natural thatch while the space-age polymers from which it is manufactured make it almost indestructible. Our synthetic thatch is warranted for 20 years against fading, loss of texture and waterproofing. The material can be nailed or screwed to wooden frames, such as a native hut. It can also be applied over wood sheathing, corrugated metal, finished siding or asphalt shingles. Anyplace you wish to combine the look of a natural thatch structure with the confidence of a long term guarantee, you can apply our authentic yet durable plastic thatch.

Dura-Thatch has two styles:

Domingo is used as a shingle for application to wood sheathing, over existing shingles, metal or plastic roofs or any surface where the underside of the roof is not exposed. Domingo is sold by the bundle. We will break full bundles into 1/2s and 1/4s depending on your needs. A bundle covers approximately 96 sq ft.

Bora Bora is used when your application requires the underside of the roof to be visable. Commonly used as a replacement for natural thatch in native huts. Bora Bora is sold by the bundle. We will break full bundles into 1/2s and 1/4s depending on your needs. A bundle covers approximately 86 sq ft.

Dura-Thatch also offers hips, used when two roof planes meet at a sharp angle; ridges, used at the peak of the roof; wind clips, used for large structures where wind might become an issue and copper caps for topping small round huts. Contact us for more information.
