| GENERAL DESCRIPTION VISCOBENT SB 2 is the trade name of BENSAN Activated Bentonite Products line of organoclays. VISCOBENT SB 2 is produced by two different type of quaternary ammonium chloride salts with specially purified montmorillonite clay solution. This reaction occurs as ion exchange reaction, replaces sodium ions on the bentonite clay surface with the positively charged quaternary salts. VISCOBENT SB 2 has improved easy dispersion characteristics and is designed to be used in low to high polarity systems containing solvents such as whitesprite, toluene, kethones, esthers and alcohols. BENEFITS OF THE PRODUCT Provides stable viscosity in solvent based systems. Provides excellent sag control and pigment settling. Eliminates need for POLAR ACTIVATORS. Disperses very well under low shear conditions. Doesnot require to prepare PREGELS. Normally used by adding directly in powder form at the pigment grinding phase. LEVEL OF USE Using level of VISCOBENT SB 2 depends on the organic base system. characteristics. Typical applications to be as 0.2 % to 0.7 % is mainly recommended. STORAGE No detorioration of the product has been observed in a 12 months time interval. Recommended storage condition is in dry and sheltered place in closed bags.
