What is this?

This is the smallest size wireless listening solution ever! Ear unit fits inside an ear canal completely with almost double spare. What does it consist of?

1) a micro ear unit inside your ear canal,
2) an induction-type transmitter (this is a neck loop) on your neck,
3) a microphone hidden somewhere in your clothes,
4) a beeper button put normally under a feet toe,
5) the headset main electronic board with a battery or an accumulator power in a pocket,
6) a Bluetooth cell phone, player, walkie-talkie or whatever somewhere near.

The principle.

There are two core parts in the security kit: an ear unit (hidden in your ear) and a main electronic circuit of headset (normally in a pocket). The headset has a neck loop (i.e. an induction-type transmitter which sends signal to the earpiece). The earpiece, in turn, receives this signal and emits sound directly into an ear drum. Additionally, the headset possesses a very-very sensitive microphone, a beeper button (which is used to send a tone to communicate simple yes/no way or, perhaps, with a Morse code?) and is normally powered from a 9V alkaline battery or any better source of power. The solution is fully wireless and Bluetooth v2.0 compliant and works with anything Bluetooth (a cellphone, a player, a walkie-talkie etc).

The micro earpiece.

Three ear units (two smaller size and one larger) is supplied with each audio security kit on standard. It is always preferred to place two ear units into both of your ears to get the most sound output. It is always preferred to use a larger earpiece over a smaller to get the most sound output. However, this is anatomically dependent, and each user should experience his own best variant.

Earpiece dimensions and tolerances:

diameter 1: 6.2 millimeters (0.24 inch) (+/- 0.2 mm);
longitude 1: 7.8 millimeters (0.31 inch) (+/- 0.2 mm);

diameter 2: 7.2 millimeters (0.28 inch) (+/- 0.2 mm);
longitude 2: 8.8 millimeters (0.35 inch) (+/- 0.2 mm).

The micro earpiece is designed to be put quite deep inside your ear canal. This hides it completely and positions close to the ear drum.

The micro earpiece is a vibration principle and has no opened sound cavity. Actually, this is the best thing of this solution. That is why it is virtually unkillable and lifetime warranty - it never experiences any cerumen (ear wax) fat blocks which is the most common problem of this industry and is the main reason of competitive products short-life, failure and repairs.

The ear unit is a passive vibration unit, that is why it does not need any own battery power.

The sound quality itself is music suitable clear, it does not noise at all. However, keep in mind, that this solution was originally designed to be used under normal room conditions. You should not expect an actual performance volume of the security kit to be the same loud as you, perhaps, got used to listening to music with stereo headphones. We guarantee this would be enough to hear clearly under normal room environment, but you will experience a trouble or not be able to use it in a loud environment.

The headset main board.

The headset includes volume adjustment buttons, allow a call answer / call end / voice dialling / last number dialling capabilities.

A neck loop.

The transmitter (i.e. the neck loop) is designed to hang on your neck since induction signal sent to the micro ear unit is relatively weak in its nature.

A microphone.

The microphone is designed to be much more sensitive that in an average headset. You will be able to record a whisper from a few meters away in a silent room. The microphone is external, its wire allows to place it somewhere among clothes.

A beeper button.

Beeper is a quite useful thing when you can not talk. It has a long wire which allows it to be positioned anywhere, normally under a feet toe. Upon pressing it sends a virtual tone, which can be heard on the other side of a call.

Bluetooth.

The headset is Bluetooth v2.0 class 2 compatible. This communicates two-way with a cell phone, player, walkie-talkie or any similar device with Bluetooth capabilities. Class 2 Bluetooth devices are rated up to 10 meters direct visibility range. Supported are A2DP, Headset, Hand Free, AVRCP and SPP profiles.

Powering.

The headset is designed to be powered with 9V battery. Long life / heavy duty alkaline batteries, lithium batteries, rechargeable NiCd/NiMH/Li accumulators should be used. Cheap salt 9V batteries (carbon-zinc, 6F22 type) are NOT OK here.

At average voice application of headset alkaline battery is enough for 3 hours of continuous duty operation.

Rated power supply voltage is 6.5 - 20V. The headset has a built-in power stabilizing circuit, it will work with any source of voltage. A lower voltage source should allow enough current for operation.

Wrong polarity protection is on board.

A line input.

Some users may require a line-input to apply audio signal externally with a wire. Differential line-in pins (+-7V max) are available on board (P9 and P10 pins).
