When the engine runs, it produces much heat. The cooling system has to regulate this heat to prevent engine overheating. One of the most important parts of the cooling system is the radiator. Radiators both store and cool the coolant in the engine. Radiator transparent coolant hose moves engine coolant to and from the radiator and the engine.

Types of Clear Radiator Hoses

An engine has two hoses for the radiator. The intake high temperature clear radiator hose transfers the coolant from the hot engine to the radiator, and the outlet line returns coolant from the radiator to the engine. The auto radiator has two primary see-through hoses, the upper and lower hoses. The upper transparent radiator hose connects the radiator to the engine, and the lower transparent coolant hose connects the radiator to the water pump. Both hoses are usually made of rubber or similar materials and reinforced with steel or other materials to boost durability. The upper and lower hoses are the biggest in the engine's cooling system. Car radiators can add a third line, called a bypass transparent radiator hose, to help regulate the flow of new coolant. Depending on the engine type and other factors, there may be additional pipes on auto radiators with different functions. Some engines, for example, use heater hoses to move hot steam coolant from the engine block to the heater core, helping to keep the car's interior warm during cold weather. Ultimately, the number and kind of hoses in an auto radiator system will vary depending on the car.

How to Install a Clear Radiator Hose

Installing a radiator killer glass radiator hose is easier than it might sound. It requires a couple of tools and some elbow grease. Here are instructions to follow. First, pack the car and turn off the engine. Allow the engine to cool before doing any repairs. Second, locate the radiator hose. A see-through radiator hose that enters the radiator and another that exits it are usually present. Third, loosen the bolts holding the see-through coolant hose in place using a wrench. Please be careful not to loosen the bolts. Fourth, with caution, remove and discard the old hose. Fifth, tighten the replacement hose with the bolts once the replacement hose is in place. When tightening the bolts, take care not to over-tighten them. Finally, start the engine and then check for any leaks; that is, loosen the bolts a little to see if there are any leaks.

How to Determine the Required Radiator Hose Size

There are a few considerations to make when selecting the size of the radiator hose. First, consider the coolant capacity of the engine. Find this information in the owner's manual or on the engine itself. Next, take measurements of the radiator's length and width. The see-through coolant hose must be long enough to stretch from the water pump to the farthest point of the radiator and wide enough to fit snugly around the radiator opening. Finally, think about the type of coolant the engine is using. For example, coolants based on ethylene glycol require a larger hose than propylene glycol.
