As a small, local company, we didn't think we had much of a chance competing in international trade against all those larger and more established companies. So when we joined Alibaba.com in 2007 to start trading online, we were quite surprised.
We started receiving some 10 to 20 inquiries every day from buyers all over the world. Inquiries about products in our showroom have resulted in some US$300,000 worth of contracts monthly. That might not be a lot for larger companies, but for us that is quite a lot, considering all of them are from legitimate and serious buyers.
We never thought it would be possible to compete with larger companies in international trade. But that's exactly what we're doing now. And it's all because of Alibaba.com.
