Material Composition (LLDPE): Verify the Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) percentage. Higher virgin LLDPE content generally indicates superior stretch, strength, and clarity. Inquire about recycled content; while more economical, it can compromise performance.
Thickness (Gauge/Micron): Confirm specified thickness (e.g., 17-23 micron or 60-80 gauge). Deviations impact tear resistance and overall load stability. Request data sheets with tolerance ranges.
Width & Length: Ensure precise roll width and length. Inaccurate dimensions lead to waste and inefficient application. Confirm core diameter compatibility with existing dispensers.
Elongation/Stretch Percentage: Critical for cost-effectiveness and load securement. A higher elongation (e.g., 150-250%) means less material is needed per pallet. Request performance data or samples for testing.
Tack/Cling: Adequate tack ensures layers adhere, creating a secure, unitized load. Excessive tack can cause rolls to stick together. Inquire about inner and outer layer cling properties.
